“Merced – On September 29th, at approximately 08:23 PM, Merced Police Department officers responded to 1107 W. Olive Ave. for an assault that had just occurred.
Merced Police Officers located a victim suffering from blunt force trauma to the head. The responsible, Francis George (38), was in a nearby parking lot and was positively identified after officers reviewed surveillance video. The video depicted George striking the victim multiple times with a metal broom stick.
George was arrested and booked into the Merced County Jail on assault charges.
