Placerville man leads deputies on a 100+ mph vehicle pursuit

“On September 16th at 8 p.m., deputies responded to a vandalism in progress call outside a business on Sierra College Boulevard in Roseville.
As deputies were arriving the suspect fled in his vehicle, nearly colliding with a patrol vehicle. Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the suspect refused to yield, leading deputies on a vehicle pursuit on Sierra College Boulevard.
The suspect reached speeds up to 104 mph while running multiple red lights. The suspect got onto eastbound Interstate 80, continuing to drive over 100 mph, weaving in and out of traffic lanes.
The pursuit ended on Mills Road in Meadow Vista when the suspect turned on to a dead end street and was taken into custody. Deputies identified the suspect as 28-year old Aaron Emerson of Placerville. Inside Emerson’s car, deputies found two glass smoking pipes.
Emerson was arrested for evading a peace officer with willful disregard for public safety and possession of drug paraphernalia.”
