A Santa Rosa man has been arrested after allegedly brandishing a gun during a suspected road rage incident, police say.

On the night of Saturday, July 17, an officer was dispatched to a reported road rage incident after a passenger in one of the involved vehicles had allegedly pointed a gun at the occupant of the other vehicle. The victim was able to provide a detailed description of the suspect vehicle.

With help from an aerial unit surveilling the area, a Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputy discovered the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on the 1900 block of Sebastopol Road. Several Santa Rosa Police officers also responded.

Officers searched the vehicle while the occupants were detained and discovered a loaded Springfield XD .40 caliber handgun.

Of the two occupants, 19-year-old Victor Arias-Contreras was ultimately arrested on suspicion of brandishing a firearm in a threatening manner, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle.
