DUI Crash leads to Firearm Arrest of Gang Member

“Merced – Daniel Deltoro (23) was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, driving while intoxicated, hit and run vehicle collision, and gang enhancements.
On July 9th at 2:30 AM, Officer Laguna saw a vehicle driving erratically on W. Main St. The driver, Deltoro, tried to evade officers and ended up crashing his vehicle near The Bar B-Q Pit at the 1700 block of “G” Street. Officers were able to arrest Deltoro after a short foot pursuit.
Officers searched the vehicle and located a loaded 12-gauge shotgun on the driver seat. Deltoro was also driving while intoxicated by alcohol. Victoria Villegas (32) was an occupant of the vehicle and was also arrested for possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle.
Deltoro was arrested for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, driving while intoxicated, hit and run, and gang enhancements. He was booked into custody at the Merced County Jail.”
