MERCED — Deputies have arrested a domestic violence suspect after an astute K-9 found her hiding in a chicken coop.

On August 30th, deputies responded to the 300 block of Bermuda Street to investigate a domestic violence call, but the suspect — identified as Meuy Saelee — had already fled the scene.

Deputy Dustin Witt and his K-9 partner Banshee, who is specially trained in human tracking, were called in to assist.

Officers Witt and Banshee spent about 40 minutes on Saelee’s trail before finally finding her hiding in a chicken coop a quarter of a mile away.

She has since been booked into the Merced County Jail.
