WEST HOLLYWOOD – Near the end of Pride Month, Pride Day was in full swing on June 27th. Two days prior, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva had Tweeted the following:

“As we approach the end of PRIDE Month, LASD wants to acknowledge the “fierceness” of the LGBTQ+ community and we will THRIVE to do our best to protect and serve you while equality is still being acquired. You have our support.”

The proof was in the perseverance of the force when West Hollywood was bursting with celebration on
Pride Day, June 27th.
Sheriff Villanueva tweeted: “While many people were celebrating #PrideDday in @wehocity, our deputies were proactively patrolling the West Hollywood streets to protect and ensure the safety of everyone.”
Next, during the joyful day, a troubling incident occurred as a West Hollywood LASD Deputy encountered a suspect driving in the immediate area of the celebration – and quickly learned that he was wanted, as well. The suspect had refused to yield for a traffic stop, and took the Deputy on a short pursuit though the streets.
At the end of the pursuit, the wanted, dangerous suspect was taken into custody, along with a recovered long rifle and narcotics.
