A Pacific Grove man was arrested in Monterey after reportedly being seen brandishing a gun inside a parking structure, according to police.

On the morning of June 11, police were called to a parking structure where a witness had reported seeing a man standing on the upper floor and brandishing a gun at pedestrians below.

Police officers, with help from city employees and law enforcement officers from State Parks and other surrounding agencies, searched the structure for over an hour but didn’t find the individual.

During the search, several people told officers they’d a man with a similar description shooting off rounds from a pellet gun in various areas over the last several days.

Just after 1 o’clock that afternoon, a man matching the description of the subject was reported having been seen in a parking lot on the 400 block of Calle Principal. Officers responded to the scene and located the subject, identified as 25-year-old Gregory Pack.

Police say Pack was indeed armed with a pellet gun that was virtually identical to a real one. Pack was ultimately arrested on suspicion of brandishing an imitation firearm and providing a false identity to police. After being booked at the city jail, he was released on citation.
