PARADISE RESIDENT ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

Paradise, CA – In 2020, Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) detectives began investigating Terry Rogers, age 68, of Paradise. During the investigation, detectives located evidence indicating Rogers was downloading child pornography.

On June 11, 2021 detectives conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle driven by Rogers, and subsequently served a search warrant at Rogers’ residence, which is located in the 5000 block of Royal Point Drive, Paradise.

During the service of the search warrant, detectives seized multiple electronic devices that belonged to Rogers. Detectives later conducted forensic searches of the electronic devices and located multiple images of child pornography. Detectives also located evidence indicating Rogers was the individual who downloaded the child pornography.

On June 14, detectives placed Rogers under arrest for a felony count of possessing over 600 images of child pornography, and for a felony count of possession of child pornography portraying sexual masochism.

Rogers was booked into the Butte County Jail. Rogers later posted bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at the Butte County Superior Court on September 3, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with additional information about this investigation to contact Detective Mary Barker at 530-538-7671.”
