Authorities Reportedly Seize Over 74 Pounds of Cannabis from Palermo Pursuit Suspect’s Vehicle

PALERMO, CA — “On Aug. 9, 2026, at about 1:52 a.m., a Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputy attempted to stop a black Ford Escape in the Palermo area for vehicle code violations.

The driver did not stop, leading deputies on a pursuit through residential and rural roadways. The vehicle was later found abandoned on Cox Lane near Wayne Charles Road.

Deputies searched the area and located a backpack near a creek bed that contained two loaded handguns. Utilizing a drone, deputies later located the driver, identified as Adrian Uribe, age 18 of Gridley, hiding under a tree.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies located approximately 74.83 pounds of marijuana, along with two bags of cocaine.

Deputies determined Uribe was the driver during the pursuit and arrested him on multiple felony charges, including evading a peace officer with wanton disregard, reckless evading while driving on the wrong side of the roadway, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and possession of marijuana for sale.”
