Brothers’ Altercation Ends with Homicide Investigation

OROVILLE — On November 5th at around 9 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies were en route to a home on Sunnybrook Lane in Oroville when they passed a car driving away from the scene with the victim, 62-year-old Ramon Becerril, in the passenger seat.

When stopped, the driver informed deputies that Becerril had been involved in an altercation with his brother, 54-year-old Vincent Becerril, during which Ramon was struck in the neck with a metal pipe. Vincent was also hit and needed medical attention as well.

Both men were taken to Oroville Medical Center where Ramon was pronounced dead. Vincent was transported to Enloe Medical Center to be treated for head trauma.

Detectives responded to the scene of the altercation, as well as the Oroville Medical Center, to begin an investigation. Charges have yet to be filed against Vincent.
