“Today a criminal Grand Jury in Nevada County returned an indictment on all requested charges, and enhancements against Dakari Harris, Devon Jennings, William Levise, Trey Richard, Ronney Turner and Ladderick Wynn.
This case stems from a shooting that took place in downtown Grass Valley on November 7, 2020, in which Shanta Olsen was killed. The defendants are all alleged to be members of a criminal street gang from Texas that were involved in a marijuana transaction in the Grass Valley area where they used fake cash to rip off the seller.
The Grand Jury found gang enhancements true against all defendants, and a special circumstance murder allegation true as to Trey Richard.
It is rare for a grand jury to be used in criminal cases in California. This is only the second known time in Nevada County a specially impaneled Grand Jury was used in a criminal case.
No bail warrants were issued as to all defendants. The next court date is Arraignment on the Indictment set for June 7, 2021.”
