On April 28, 2021, at approximately 2:13 p.m., the Los Banos Police Department Gang Unit was on patrol in the 700 Block of Miller Lane when they stopped a Gray Pontiac Sedan for a vehicle registration violation.
The officers contacted the male juvenile driver and front passenger, 19-year-old Gilbert Angulo of Los Banos. While speaking with both males, the officers noticed a handgun partially concealed in Angulo’s waistband.
Both males were detained for safety reasons and the firearm was secured. Upon closer examination, the officers were able to confirm the firearm was loaded with a high capacity magazine and was un-serialized .
Angulo was placed under arrest and booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail, charged with possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle and possession of an un-serialized manufactured firearm. The juvenile driver was not arrested and released to an adult family member.
This is yet another great example of the work our staff do to keep our community safe. Great job Gang unit!
