A Yuba City man has been arrested on allegations of robbing and sexually assaulting a woman in October 2020.

On the morning of October 26, officers responded to a robbery report from the 500 block of Plumas Street. The victim, an elderly woman, told officers that the suspect, whom she described as a Hispanic male in his 20’s or 30’s with a medium build, had come in asking to use the restroom.

Once inside, the victim said he forced himself onto her, sexually assaulted her, then fled with her keys and car.

On March 28, 2021, further investigation, including the collection of DNA and fingerprint evidence, led to the identification of 28-year-old Francisco Martin Sanchez as the suspect.

Sanchez was arrested and booked that same day on suspicion of kidnapping, threats, elder abuse, robbery, and sexual assault.
