“On Monday, March 22nd, while working patrol an officer initiated a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Atlantic Street, on a vehicle with expired registration.
Two occupants were inside the vehicle, neither could furnish a valid driver’s license. They were later identified as Leonard G. Spice (dob 08/26/1978) out of Sacramento, the driver, and Elizabeth J. Pate (dob 02/03/1973), the passenger. Spice admitted to being on Post Release Community Supervision.
Upon investigation, the officer realized the vehicle identification number (VIN) did not match the assigned license plate on the vehicle. This lead the officer to investigate further.
A search of their vehicle uncovered a stolen handgun, ammunition, stun-gun, drug paraphernalia, and methamphetamine. Both Spice and Pate were arrested and booked into the South Placer Jail on several charges including felon in possession of a firearm, drug possession, and conspiracy.”
