Five Injured in Thunder Valley Casino Stabbing; Suspect in Custody

LINCOLN, CA  — Placer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported stabbing at Thunder Valley Casino at approximately 7 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday August 19th, ultimately taking a suspect into custody within minutes of arriving on scene.

The incident occurred in the kitchen area of the facility, near the Dos Coyotes restaurant and reportedly involved employees, per casino officials. According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect—described as a man in his 20s—stabbed and slashed five people. A KCRA 3 news crew reportedly observed a man wearing an apron placed in handcuffs and loaded into a patrol vehicle.

One victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The remaining four victims were treated at the scene by Thunder Valley Casino EMTs and CAL FIRE personnel; none of their injuries are life-threatening.

Investigators stated that the suspect appears to know all five victims. Law enforcement confirmed there are no outstanding suspects and no ongoing threat to the public. Detectives remain on scene as the investigation continues.
