28-year-old Man Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography in Rancho Cucamonga

A 28-year-old man from Rancho Cucamonga has been arrested for possession of child pornography.

Rancho Cucamonga police were first tipped off about the case on March 3, 2021, when they received a report about child pornography being posted on a social networking site.  “Upon investigation,” the release states, “detectives found a series of pornographic images that included children engaged in sexual activity, and explicit conversations the suspect was having with minors.”

The suspect, Scott Nelms, apparently made it easy enough for police to track him down, as they were able to identify him through the email he used on the website and his location through his IP address.  On March 18th, a search warrant was served at his residence in the 9100 block of Lomita Court.  There, police detectives “seized several electronic devices, memory cards and a video tape belonging to Nelms,” according to the release.

Police arrested Nelms and booked him into the West Valley Detention center.  His bail was set at $25,000.

The Rancho Cucamonga Police Department is asking anyone with additional information on this case to contact the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station.  Anyone can leave an anonymous tip by contacting We-tip at 1-800-78-CRIME or www.wetip.com.
