Three Suspects Arrested Following Newport Beach Home Invasion Robbery Investigation

NEWPORT BEACH, CA – The Newport Beach Police Department arrested three suspects following a months-long investigation into an armed home invasion robbery that took place earlier this year.

On March 13, 2026, at approximately 5:51 a.m., law enforcement officers responded to a report of a robbery at a short-term rental property located in Newport Beach. According to investigators, two masked individuals armed with handguns entered the residence and demanded money and narcotics from the occupants. Multiple victims were assaulted during the incident and sustained injuries that required medical treatment. The suspects fled the scene after allegedly stealing various valuables, including cellular phones, jewelry, and vehicle keys.

Detectives initiated an investigation utilizing technology-related resources to identify the individuals involved in planning and executing the crime. On June 3, 2026, detectives placed three suspects under arrest: Linda Shahin, 38, of Los Angeles; Edward Graves, 35, of Los Angeles; and Miguel Cervantes, 28, of Alhambra.

All three individuals were booked on charges of conspiracy and robbery. Graves and Cervantes face additional charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Evidence gathered during the investigation led detectives to believe that Shahin was involved in orchestrating the robbery, while Graves and Cervantes allegedly carried out the home invasion.

Subsequent search warrants executed at multiple locations connected to the suspects resulted in the recovery of firearms and property reported stolen during the robbery. The Newport Beach Police Department conducted the investigation and arrests in partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and the Orange County Violent Crimes Task Force. The investigation remains active as evidence continues to be reviewed, and anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Newport Beach Police Department Detective Division at 949-644-3777.
