PLACENTIA, CA — A Placentia Police Department K-9 team assisted an outside law enforcement agency over the weekend of May 5th, resulting in the discovery and seizure of approximately 10 kilograms of fentanyl.

Canine Officer Irvine and his partner, K-9 Enzo, responded to a request for assistance during a vehicle stop conducted by the external agency. During the deployment, K-9 Enzo performed a narcotics detection sweep and provided a positive alert on the vehicle, establishing probable cause for a detailed search.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers located and recovered the 10 kilograms of suspected fentanyl. The seized narcotics were taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation by the primary agency.

Department officials noted that the successful operation highlights the utility of specialized police canines as force multipliers in locating controlled substances. Representatives also emphasized that the incident underscores the role of inter-agency collaboration and shared resources in managing public safety operations.
