“On Wednesday, March 3, 2021 officers responded to Twin Peaks Blvd. and Burnett Ave. regarding a report of a robbery that occurred at approximately 12:37 PM. Officers arrived on scene and met with an adult male victim who stated that while he was filming an interview on the street for a news story regarding an uptick of thefts in the neighborhood a vehicle approached them.

Several occupants exited the vehicle and one of the suspects brandished a firearm at the victim and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and a suspect placed the victim’s camera equipment into the vehicle, which fled the scene with the suspects.

Through the course of the investigation an adult male was arrested on the 200 block of Randolph Street at approximately 2:00 PM. During the arrest the stolen camera was located and seized by the officers. The arrested suspect, identified as 34 year-old Ronald Whitten of San Francisco, was booked into San Francisco County Jail for possession of stolen property (496(a) PC).

The San Francisco Robbery Detail investigators are leading the investigation and are still searching for additional suspects.

While an arrest has been made, this remains an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the SFPD Tip Line at 1-415-575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD.”
