Local Widow Wedding Ring Stolen, Then Recovered by Detectives

Originally published as an El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post –  
“When a 20-year widow discovered her wedding ring from her late husband was missing, she contacted EDSO to file a report.
At that time, it was unknown if the wedding ring was missing or stolen. The value of the ring was $9,500.00.
The report was forwarded to Detectives and investigation revealed the wedding ring was stolen during a house cleaning and later sold to a pawnshop in North Sacramento.
The suspect in question was interviewed and confessed to the theft of the wedding ring.
The investigating Detective was able to track down the wedding ring before it was sold, and the ring was delivered to the rightful owner.
The victim was so pleased to be reunited with her ring. The charges of Elder Abuse and Grand Theft have been forwarded to the EDC District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.”
