A Trinity County man was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting, but later released after the District Attorney determined the shooting had been justifiable.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Kyle Adamson was arrested on the night of February 1 on suspicion of fatally shooting 34-year-old Alex Heck at a marijuana farm on the outskirts of Douglas City.
Evidence obtained during the investigation reportedly suggests that Adamson and Heck had exchanged gunfire following an altercation. Both men were wounded, but Heck later succumbed to his injuries.
While the investigation remains active, authorities believe this was an isolated incident. Adamson has since been released from custody.
