Arrest Made In Good News Rescue Mission Auto Theft

“On Friday, January 15, 2021 at approximately 5:50 am, the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle following a female as she walked down the street in Douglas City. The caller reported the van followed her to her residence and parked across the street.

Deputies responded to the area and conducted a traffic stop as the van left the Douglas City area and drove eastbound on SR 299. The driver of the van was identified as David Vanbuskirk, of Redding, CA. The van was found to be owned by the Good News Rescue Mission and through further investigation was found to have been stolen earlier in the night.

David Vanbuskirk was arrested and transported to the Trinity County Jail where he was booked on the below listed charges.
