JURUPA VALLEY – An investigation was necessary to delve into a mysterious shooting of several cars at a residence at 4:50 AM on 11/23/2020. A vehicle had driven up and shot at several unoccupied vehicles on the 7000 block of Pheasant Run Rd, in the City of Jurupa Valley.

“Subsequently, the suspect(s) drove away and fled the scene,” said Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sergeant Armendariz. “At the time of the initial investigation, it was believed the shooting was possibly gang related; however, no suspects were initially arrested or identified.”

The Jurupa Valley Special Enforcement Team (SET) immediately took action, and eventually located video surveillance, featuring images of the incident’s vehicle used during the commission of the crime.

Captured evidence in-hand, “SET deputies were able to identify and locate the suspect vehicle and obtained suspect identification linking them to the shooting,” said Sgt. Armendariz. “On December 2, 2020, at 11:00 AM, SET deputies along with members of the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB), served a search warrant in the 13700 block of Arrow Blvd., in the city of Fontana.”

The press release adds, “Multiple items of evidence linking the suspect to the shooting including firearms were located during the
service of this search warrant. Efforts to locate additional suspect as well as other persons of interest in this investigation are ongoing. A juvenile suspect was booked into the Riverside County Juvenile Hall for possession of an assault rifle,
possession of a stolen firearm, possession of control substances for sale, possession of a short barrel rifle and criminal threats.”
