“This morning, July 11, 2020 at approximately 11:15 am, members of MPD’s Street Gang Unit were working a special assignment on bike patrol in the downtown area when they attempted to contact 22-year-old Xane Hernandez of Modesto, who is known to be on active felony probation. Hernandez fled from officers and attempted to elude them by running through the downtown Farmer’s Market at 16th and I Street while people were present.

Hernandez was captured and found to be in possession of a stolen handgun.

Hernandez is prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammunition and was arrested for felony firearm charges, resisting arrest and violating his probation terms. Hernandez was booked into the county jail.”
