A Portola man has been arrested in connection to an alleged attempted kidnapping of two juveniles late last month.

On May 26, Plumas County deputies began investigating a suspected attempted kidnapping.

The night before, a man had allegedly followed two juveniles around Portola and three times attempted to coerce them into his vehicle, allegedly by claiming to be an acquaintance of one of their relatives who’d asked him to bring them home.

The man was later identified as 49-year-old Joshua Steven Bevan. Bevan was arrested on the evening of Saturday, May 27.
