Dollar General theft leads to chase, inevitable arrest

On Saturday noght around 8:30 a theft occurred at the Dolalr General store and a report was called into the Colusa Police Department.

Arriving officers were able to obtain descriptions of the suspects, their getaway car and the direction in which it fled.

CHP quickly spotted the vehicle. near Main and 5th Streets.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop at first but instead fled from the officers.

The chase continued into Glenn County where CHP joined in. At a dead end at County Road 203, after spike strips were deployed, the car stopped moving.  But it was not the end of the chase.

Two suspects then attempted to flee on foot for a while, untilt ey were apprehended. Kaitlyn West was the driver, booked for “evading and various drug charge.”

Her passenger, Matthew Hobbs, was booked for “resisting, probation violation and various drug charges.”

The Colusa Police department reports that “most of the stolen items from Dollar General were recovered in the vehicle.”
