They also took a 2020 Ford Expedition that was parked on the lot. On 1/4/2021, CPD learned that the Yuba City Police Department had been in involved in a vehicle pursuit involving the stolen vehicle from Hoblit’s during the early
morning hours.
YCPD had to cancel the pursuit for the safety of officers and citizens. Prior to the pursuit, officers where able to identify the driver as Fernando Ramirez Ramirez.
With a joint investigation with CPD and YCPD the female passenger was identified as Jasmin Paniagua. On the morning of 1/5/2021, YCPD again spotted the stolen vehicle and again initiated a pursuit.
The pursuit again had to be cancelled. On 1/5/2021, a Colusa County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle on the 1300 block of Wescott Rd. CPD officers and Colusa County deputies were able to make contact with the vehicle.
In the vehicle were both subjects along with various items of stolen property. Both Ramirez and Paniagua were booked for various theft and drug charges. The investigation is still on going. We would like to thank the Yuba City Police Department for their help and effort in this case.
