A Woodland man has been arrested after leading police on a pursuit in an allegedly stolen vehicle, according to a department press release.

Just before 12:30 AM on Saturday, April 18, local police began pursuing a Honda CRV that had been reported stolen just a few hours earlier.

The chase reportedly came to an abrupt end when the driver collided with the curb at Oak Avenue and Third Street, irreparably damaging the front driver-side tire.

Once the vehicle came to a stop, the driver — identified as 26-year-old Jacob Dakota James of Woodland — tried to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. His passenger, 22-year-old Daniel Roa (also of Woodland) was issued a notice to appear for possession of a meth pipe and drugs.

A third passenger, whose name has not been made public, was released at the scene.

James is now housed at the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of vehicle theft and felony evading.
