Neighbor Dispute Turns Deadly

28-year old Victor Topete was arrested for manslaughter and probation violation the night of April 15, 2020.

Investigation determined he was in a verbal argument with his neighbor when he struck him.

The victim instantly collapsed and Topete fled the scene.

Clovis Police, Clovis Fire, and American Ambulance responded to the home on the 400 block of West San Jose Avenue in Clovis to provide aid to the 54-year old male who did not have a pulse and was not breathing.

EMS attempted to revive the man but he was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

Topete was found in a car at Highway 41 and Children’s Boulevard in Madera County. He surrendered without resistance and was questioned by Clovis Police detectives before being booked at the Fresno County Jail.
