Twelve Smashed-Window Burglaries – Suspects Found in Their Vehicle with Broken Glass on Floorboard

CLAREMONT – Three days of twelve vehicle burglaries with smashed windows spurred a Claremont PD investigation beginning March 21st. The majority of the incidents occurred at apartment complexes in the area of Bonita Ave. and Brighton Park Apt (Foothill / Claremont Blvd).

Provided surveillance footage featured two suspects and their vehicle. Three days later, at 3:54 AM, Claremont PD Officer located the suspect vehicle in the area of San Jose and Indian Hill Blvd.

“The two occupants were determined to be the suspects in the auto burglaries,” said Council Member and Former Claremont Police Commissioner Ed Reece, “with burglary tools along with broken pieces of glass located on the floorboard of the car.”
Two anonymous suspects from Riverside, a man (32) and a woman (38) were immediately arrested for burglary.

“The Claremont Police Department wants you to know that we are still actively keeping the City safe during this time,” said Council Member Reece. “We encourage residents to also remain vigilant.”

He urged anyone with information about criminal activity in progress to dial 9-1-1. To file a report, call the Claremont Police Department at 909-399-5411.

Council Member Reece posted on Facebook, “Although we have adjusted our protocol to keep you and our staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to work for you. #claremontpd #edreece #claremont #police”
