Trio Sentenced in Insurance Fraud

Trio Sentenced in Insurance Fraud

LOS ANGELES —After pleading guilty in LA Superior Court to various misdemeanor charges,  Lindhl Larry Lucas, 51, (Santa Clarita), Kelly Ann Lucas, 52, (Littlerock, CA), and Elaine Edey, 47, (Newhall) were sentenced to serve three years probation. In addition, they were ordered to pay $500 in fines.

A complaint initiated the investigation.  Investigators discovered that Lucas Insurance Serviices, owned by Lindhl Lucas, engaged in practices deemed illegal, which included “selling insurance products without proper licenses.”

Edey license expired in 2008 and was not renewed.  This did not stop her, however, from continuing to sell insurance.

While Lindhl and Kelly Lucas were each charged with “knowingly providing false information and concealing material facts” (in attempts to hide the unlicensed agent activity), Edey was charged with transacting without an insurance license.
