The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office used the recent recovery of stolen items as a platform to remind the public about protecting their items in their parked vehicles –

Today EDSO Deputies were able to catch and arrest serial thieves that came from out of the area to prey on people who parked their vehicles to get out of the house and enjoy some local recreational areas.

Multiple items of a stolen identity, money, illegal narcotics, narcotic paraphernalia, gift cards, and a rare coin collection valued at over $5000 was recovered after a concerned citizen reported two suspicious subjects looking into vehicles at a nearby park.

The suspects were ultimately located at the AM/PM gasoline station on Green Valley Road.

These items belonged to victims in Sacramento and Yolo County and the owner of the coin collection was identified and it was determined that the collection was stolen from a vehicle.

An additional charge was added against the suspects who used a specialized tool to break car windows.

Remember to always remove valuables from vehicles, or lock them securely in the trunk.”
