A deputy with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office just happened to be in the right place at the right time at the Raley’s in Loomis –

“One of our deputies was driving through the Raley’s shopping center in Loomis last week, when the store manager waved him down.

stolen goods

The manager told the deputy she watched 27-year old Abran Alvarez, of North Highlands, just walk out of the store without paying for his shopping cart full of alcohol.

The deputy approached Alvarez’s car where he was loading the stolen goods.

Between the car and grocery cart, the deputy found $1,500 worth of stolen items, including over 35 bottles of alcohol, doggie treats and other miscellaneous items.

His efforts to stockpile (without paying) didn’t work out so well. Let us remind you, nothing will detract us from our law enforcement mission, during this unprecedented time.

Alvarez was arrested and booked at the Auburn Jail. His bail is set at $20,000.”
