Suspect arrested in fatal shooting of 20-year-old Richard Ponce

SAN FRANCISCO — Police have announced the arrest of a suspect in the murder of 20-year-old Richard Ponce of Dos Palos.

Ponce was reportedly gunned down on July 7th, 2019, in the area of Bonifacio Street and Mabini Street. Responding officers found him lying on the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound.

Though he was treated by medics, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide investigators eventually identified the primary suspect as 21-year-old Patrick Jackson of Oakland.

On September 11, Jackson was arrested on the 1500 block of Doolittle Drive in San Leandro and booked into the San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of murder and robbery.
