San Diego Sheriff IDs second suspect in 2017 shooting on Edding Drive

SAN DIEGO — Deputies have arrested the second suspect in connection to a 2017 shooting on Edding Drive that left one of the suspects dead and another person injured.

26-year-old Joshua Story was already in custody on unrelated charges when, on August 28, investigators linked him to the shooting.

Just before 2 AM on February 7, 2017, Story and 15-year-old Derrick Harris Jr. confronted two occupants at a home on Edding Drive, resulting a struggle that ended with the shooting death of Harris.

The homeowner’s son was also wounded but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Story fled before deputies arrived.
