Plumas Sheriff: Man paroled for homicide arrested on suspicion of domestic violence

LOYALTON — A Plumas County man previously paroled for homicide has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

On August 6th at around 10:18 AM, the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office in locating 49-year-old Aaron Walter, who was wanted in connection to an alleged domestic violence incident on July 28th.

He was also wanted by the California Department of Corrections for being a parolee at large.

Authorities eventually found Walter in Loyalton, where he was barricaded inside of a residence. Several members of the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office and SWAT team arrived, along with other assisting agencies, and soon took Walter into custody without further incident.

He has since been booked into the Plumas County Jail.
