EL DORADO — The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office was called to a campground off of Icehouse Road on the report of gunshots being fired.

Officers arrived and came upon several people. They found a stolen gun and one person with a warrant out on them.

Two arrests were made — Sacramento resident Armando Esquivel, and Xavier Torres.

Esquivel is a Norteno gang member “arrested for a number of crimes.” Torres was arrested for possession of a handgun as a felon.

In addition, the EDCSO confiscated a number of firearms, some of which were unregistered.

Finally, the press release reminds us, “If you are planning to target practice in El Dorado County, know the rules and laws of the area. If you are on probation, parole, or are a felon, you should know those laws as well.”
