Man Previously Arrested For Attempted Murder Now Faces Murder Charges

PACHECO — A man on probation, previously arrested for attempted murder is back in custody—this time for a murder. Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested him on July 5th with assistance from other agencies.

Shortly before 12:15 p.m., a Sheriff’s Office dispatcher received a call about a medical emergency in Pacheco. Pleasant Hill police officers were the first responders dispatched to this tiny unincorporated community.

Officers found the victim covered in blood on the sidewalk on the 5900 block of Pacheco Boulevard. Despite CPR efforts to save him, 29-year-old Erick Ousey, a Pacheco resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crime lab investigators from the Sheriff’s Office gathered evidence at the scene , and Aaron Goode, 41, also of Pacheco was identified as the suspect.

The suspect and victim knew each other, and they had apparently became embroiled in a dispute.

About 8 hours after Ousey was found dead, officers with the Bay Area Rapid Transit system located Goode. BART police detained him at the Concord BART station.

Shortly afterward, detectives and deputies from the Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene and they arrested Goode.Goode remains in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility. Bond for release from the county jail was denied. Goode is presently charged with murder.
