SAN JOSE – The San Jose Police Department has announced the arrest of a second suspect wanted in connection to a robbery at a local 76 Gas Station that occurred on June 4.
Sergeant Enrique Garcia with the San Jose Police Department said, “San Jose police officers responded to the 76 gas station located at 2101 N. 1st St. in San Jose on a report of an armed robbery with shots fired.”
The suspect in the robbery apparently did not expect someone to intervene, and chase the victims out into the open parking area and at them as they tried to flee.
20-year-old Lenard Terry Hall was located nearby hiding in bushes along the street front and was identified and arrested for the suspected robbery. However another suspect, 21-year-old Kevin Phektra Ta, was able to drive away from the scene and was not located.
But despite Ta’s best efforts to evade police, on June 14, 2019 the San Jose Police Department’s Covert Response Unit located and arrested Ta in the City of Santa Clara. Ta was also wanted in connection to another armed robbery that took place on May 20, 2019, in San Jose.
Hall had previously been arrested and charged with a string of eight armed robberies in late 2016, and early 2017. Hall was currently out on probation.
Garcia said, “Both Hall and Ta were booked into Santa Clara County Jail on multiple counts of armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.”
Anyone with information about this case or others similar are asked to contact Detective Daren Reinke of the San Jose Police Department’s Robbery Unit at 408-277-4166.
