COLUSA – In the early afternoon of February 16, the CPD conducted one of the many traffic stops they perform over the course of a month.
Near Parhill and 10th Streets, they discovered the Yvonda Kennedy, the driver, did not have a valid license.
It was her passenger, however, who went to jail. Vicente Mercado , her passenger, was on searchable probation. Officers proceeded to conduct a search of Mercado, who hid a loaded firearm on himself.
In addition, Mercado was also in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested for “various gun and drug related charges.”
Kennedy was cited and released.
