The Tulare Area Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team completed a search on February 7th at a Visalia residence located on the 100 block of Northeast 1st Street. The search led to the arrest of three adults, including 47-year old Roger Lee Jenkins who attempted to rid the house of evidence as detectives conducted their search.

Jenkins could not throw away the drug paraphernalia detectives found, including scales and other evidence supporting a case of intent to sell. Detectives located a small amount of methamphetamine and a marijuana plant. A large capacity magazine was also found along with a homemade silencer affixed to a sawed off riffle.

40-year old Maria Medrano and her 31-year old sister, Marta Medrano, were also arrested. Marta’s two babies were in the home when the search warrant was served and completed. Marta has since been released.

Maria faces charges for child endangerment likely to cause great bodily harm, possession of a controlled substance, possessing drug paraphernalia, public intoxication, and giving false information to a police officer.

Jenkins’ charges include possession of a silencer, possession of firearm by a felon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of opium pipe, destroying evidence, large capacity magazine, maintaining a place for selling or using, possessing drug paraphernalia, disobeying a court order, and vandalism.

Maria and Jenkins remain in custody, Maria at Bob Wiley and Jenkins at the Adult Pre-Trial Facility, each with bail set at $175,000.
