Two Suspects Arrested in Connection With July Robbery in Porterville
PORTERVILLE, CA — Officers with the Porterville Police Department arrested two individuals on Wednesday August 19th in connection with a July robbery involving pepper spray and the theft of an electric scooter.
The incident occurred on July 3, 2026, when officers responded to a report of an aggravated robbery at a local business. An adult male victim reported that two individuals approached him while he was shopping, demanded his electric scooter, sprayed him with pepper spray, and forcibly took the scooter before fleeing.
Detectives subsequently identified the suspects as Porterville residents German Briseno and Ivelice Chavez. Investigators confirmed that both individuals were on active Tulare County probation and had outstanding warrants for their arrest.
On August 19, 2026, law enforcement executed a search warrant at the suspects’ residence, where officers located Briseno and Chavez hiding in the attic. Authorities took both individuals into custody without incident and booked them into the South County Detention Facility.
