Police Seek Suspect in Safeway Parking Lot Shooting

PALO ALTO —  The PAP are on the lookout for a suspect who shot at a vehicle just after 9:15 p.m. on Friday. The shooting occurred at the Safeway store located at 2811 Middlefield Road.

Video surveillance footage showed a white Lexus SUV with paper license plates leave the area. It left after the suspect shot out its window.

Furthermore, the owner of the SUV, an unknown black male in his mid-twenties or early thirties, fled the scene. He did not report the incident to the police.

Likewise, the shooting suspect also fled the area and remains at large.  In addition, the motive for the shooting remains unknown.

According to PAPD, “The unknown suspect confronted the victim in the parking lot as he was getting into the Lexus.”

During the confrontation, the suspect fired multiple gunshots at the victim before he sped away.  Police describe the suspect as a white muscular male in his mid-thirties or forties. He wore a black tank top and a black baseball cap worn backward. The suspect also has a tribal band or barbed wire tattoo on both biceps.
