Probation search uncovers drugs, stolen gun in Castroville

CASTROVILLE // Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a local man after catching him with a stash of drugs during a probation search.
On February 7th, Monterey County Sheriff’s Detectives and County Probation Department officials visited 40-year-old Epifanio Garcia on Rico Street. During the search, detectives discovered five ounces of methamphetamine, 1.5 ounces of heroin, and 9.8 grams of cocaine.
A stolen .380 caliber handgun was also discovered, as well as $1,390 in cash.
Garcia was taken into custody on related charges.
