SPRING VALLEY // The San Diego Sheriff’s Department is seeking a primary suspect in connection to the death of 25-year-old Aurice J. Turk of Spring Valley, which has officially been ruled a homicide.

On the night of Thursday, January 4th, Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at Albertson’s at 9831 Campo Road after receiving a 911 call that a fight had broken out. The caller reported that the fight involved several people and that a gunshot had possibly been fired.

Responding deputies located a man — later identified as Aurice Turk — who’d suffered a traumatic injury and was in urgent need of medical assistance. Turk was promptly treated and rushed to a local hospital, but ultimately passed away.

Following an autopsy, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled Turk’s death a homicide by gunshot wound.

Given that multiple subjects were seen running from the area when the shooting occurred, detectives are calling on the public to come forward with any information relevant to the investigation.
