Detectives Make Critical Arrest in Gang-Related Shooting

Ray Perales has been arrested in connection with an incident that occurred in July. On Sunday July 23rd, Fresno Police Officers responded to the area of Hughes and Brown where a gang-related shooting was reported. There were several civilians present in the area at the time of the shooting but fortunately no one was shot.

Investigation revealed this was a gang-related shooting. Furthermore, detectives were able to identify 27-year old Perales as one of the shooters. Detectives, the Special Response Team, and the Adult Compliance Team worked together to issue a multi-location search warrant.

A vast collection of guns were acquired from Perales’ home including a “SKS Assault Rifle, AK-47 style Assault Rifle, a Tec 9 assault pistol, a revolver, and two other handguns.” A ballistic helmet and vest were also found along with several rounds of ammunition.

Perales, an active gang member, was arrested on November 1st and booked into Fresno County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and several weapons related charges.
