MONTEREY COUNTY — 25-year-old Peter Moore has been sentenced to a total of 18 years in prison for sexually assaulting one of his girlfriend’s underage relatives.

The 13-year-old victim reported to a school police that the incident had occurred in the early morning hours of December 8, 2015, at the family home.

The school official contacted Marina PD, who interviewed the child at the Bates-Eldridge Advocacy Center. A physical exam was conducted and DNA samples collected. Evidence of the Moore’s DNA was also found on the victim’s clothing.

Moore was sentenced in court to five years for one count of forcible lewd acts upon a child and two additional counts of non-forcible lewd acts upon a child.

At sentencing, Moore’s previous “strike” for a 2011 first-degree burglary was taken into account and served to double the 9-year sentence resulting from his assault convictions.
