SAN LUIS OBISPO — The Taco Bell at Santa Rosa and Olive was the scene of the theft of an iPhone 6 Plus during the early hours of March 12th. Police were summoned and tracked the phone until it went dead.

Three days later, a man called a friend of the victim and offered to sell it back to the victim. The SLOPD worked with the victim in arranging a meeting with the suspect.

Then, on March 16th, an undercover officer met the suspect at 12:15 pm in a Santa Maria parking lot to buy back the stolen phone as per their arrangement.

Once the transaction took place, police arrested 41-year-old Armando Acosta, who was then booked for misappropriation of lost/stolen property and possession of stolen property.
