RED BLUFF — On March 9th at around 10:30 AM, Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on Petty John Road after reports of a shooting victim.

Responding units discovered a man dead from a gunshot wound and, working with the District Attorney’s Investigator’s Office as well as a warden from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, established a perimeter at the scene.

Sheriff’s Detectives also responded to a residence near the location and spoke with one Brandy Turner (37), who admitted to knowing the dead man and that she’d met him and killed him at the location. She also mentioned that they’d visited to discuss visitation regarding their child, who was not present at the time.

Turner was arrested and charged with murder. The victim’s identity is currently being withheld pending notification of family.
