HOLLISTER — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a hit-and-run suspect wanted in connection to an incident that occurred on Tuesday, November 29th, at around 4 PM. The suspect is said to have been driving a newer model black 4-door compact pick-up southbound on San Benito Street.

Police arrived on scene that night after reports of a pedestrian hit-and-run incident, from which the driver had fled prior to their arrival.

The victim told officers he’d been trying to cross the intersection on a green light when the suspect’s vehicle approached him and struck the duffel bag he was carrying over his shoulder. The impact ripped the back away with such force that the strap was torn off and and injured his shoulder.

Police also learned there’d been an unidentified woman who witnessed the incident but left before officers could respond. Though she has not been interviewed as of yet, police are hoping she’ll come forward.
